Thursday 13th September – bike **** Around Felixstowe. Sunny and warm.

What a lovely day in Felixstowe today, after a nippy start it soon warmed up with wall to wall sunshine:) After a trip to the vet with a Cockatiel exercises in the garden, found some more strength exercises for older people on the NHS site as apparently you lose muscle as you get older!

NHS Exercies

Then as it was such a nice day I decided it was time to get out on the bikes so I made a salad, pumped up our tyres, I have a slow puncture in my bike but need two new tyres so will sort it out then! Left home at 1.45 heading down to the prom which was busy with people enjoying the sun. On reaching The Dip it was nicer as much quieter:) an odd wooden sign had been placed on Kite Beach saying ‘Upon Every Wave Our Wellbeing Rides’ I don’t know what it means either ??? A brief stop at the Ferry and despite high water there was not a lot of boat action. Then out on the Deben river path, always nice even if a bit bumpy as very dry! We turn left and stop on a fishing platform for our picnic and read for an hour before setting off again. We soon came across some top blackberry bushes absolutely full of fruit, it certainly is a good year and stopped to pick some. Out at Falkenham, across the fields and lanes to The Grove and back through Felixstowe town centre stopping at Wilco to check out bike tyres, a bit expensive so will check out ebay. Then home for a cuppa and cake with Tipping Point and The Chase! Might be able to get out windsurfing tomorrow and Sunday and Tuesday are looking good but we have been let down by the weatherman before!
A nice ride in the sun, out 2 hours 50 minutes covering 12.60 miles with a top speed of 26.63 knots:)
